About
About us
When we decided to add harps to our range of products a few years ago, we approached all three of the big companies for a supply of harps, but none would supply us directly in Western Australia. This was a mystery to us, especially as we did not want supply of two or three harps for our programme, we wanted a container, followed by more containers, but the answer was no.
Ron, of WA Music and an engineer in a past life, considered that the best way forward from this impossible situation was to study the art of harp making and start producing our own high-quality lever harps. With a lot of help from Pilgrim Harps in London, Mark Norris harps in Scotland, and Perth based harp maker Fred Brewer, Sanderson Harps was born.
Many Sanderson Harps have now emerged from the workshops of the Perth Harp Centre in Osborne Park. They remain popular for sale and hire, due to their high build quality, great sound, and relatively low price. The price of Sanderson harps remains low because they are made in Australia, without fluctuating currency costs, shipping costs, import tax and port charges.
Although the Europeans and Japanese would not supply us direct in WA, The Americans came to the rescue five years ago in the form of a dealership with Dusty Strings Harps. Dusty Strings are not only lovely people to deal with, but they also make wonderful lever harps, which are extremely popular through our parent company, WA Music in Innaloo.
We are also excited to announce that in the middle of this year (2026) Salvi have finally agreed to work with us as their West Australian Dealers. Salvi make the most wonderful Pedal and Lever Harps and together with their sister company Lyon and Healy, Salvi are the world’s largest harp company.
Salvi are a company with extraordinary commitment to innovation, build quality, and workmanship. We are truly excited to be now working in Western Australia with this passionate Italian Harp company.
